The kitchen is arguably the heart of any home but it’s also likely the area in your household that creates the most waste. Here are our simple tips to reduce your kitchen waste:
It was great to hear the Minister for the Environment, Sussan Ley, today commit to a national strategy to change the way we produce and consume plastics. We look forward to working with both the government and industry to potentially expand our existing solutions, such as cigarette recycling, to all Australians. Head to the link in bio for more info!
The Clean Up Australia annual Rubbish Report is out and it is full of interesting insights. Plastic waste is increasing year on year and cigarette butts continue to be the most reported type of waste by Clean Up volunteers.
Happy International Polar Bear Day! Although they're miles away from us, the effects of our actions are most certainly felt by not only these fuzz balls, but all the wildlife in the antarctic. Landfills are a significant contributor to global warming, producing methane, a harmful greenhouse gas. Just another reason why we recycle.
Have you ever thought about upskilling in the realm of sustainability? Sometimes we can get caught up in our careers, and forget it's possible to learn and grow outside of our workplace! Even better, @ecowarriorprincess has proven that this doesn't need to break the bank - head to the link in bio for her guide to Free Online Courses on Sustainability, Ethical Fashion and Permaculture.
It's your last chance to Step Up to win a Zero Waste Box bundle! You could win this great prize for your office, thanks to our friends at @cleanupaustralia. Simply register your business for Business Clean Up Day to go in the draw. Head to the link in bio for more details - competition ends 2 March!
South Australia is working to ban single-use plastics by 2025 and the first layer of bans will come into effect at the end of this week! Head to the link in bio for everything you need to know.
Thank you to all our collectors who have helped us to reach this milestone! Together we have collected over 7,000 pieces of L.O.L. Surprise! packaging, accessories, and products. We are so proud that together we have kept all these items out of landfill and given them a second life.
Say hello to our New Zealand winners of the Bic Photo Competition! Jasmin has been teaching her daughters all about recycling and sustainability. They collect up used writing instruments from their classroom then drop them off at their local Community Collection Hub. Congratulations and keep up the great work!
